Powering my Solar Shed with Black Friday Specials

As I continue building my solar shed I’m getting ready to add my power plant. And what better time to find deals than Black Friday and Cyber Monday? The question I’d really like an answer to though is when will be the best time to pull the trigger?

NOTE: AS AN AFFILIATE, I EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES

As you can see in the affiliate links in my Black Friday article they’re offering generous seasonal discounts on solar equipment. But there are so many says it’s hard to know when to say when? For an example, an affiliate I’ve been keeping an eye on for my solar equipment is Renogy. Renogy started the season offering enticing Thanksgiving Day Sales.

Up to 20% OFF for Thanksgiving Sale

Up to 20% off, not bad, right?

Then they followed up with their “Pre-Black Friday Deals”

Up To 30% OFF For Early Black Friday Deals

Ok… I see you Renogy. 30% off. Now we’re cooking. Time to buy, right?

Up To 35% OFF for Black Friday Sale (UK)

Update…

Up To 40% OFF On Selected Items For Cyber Monday

Ok, so maybe this is it? To be totally honest with you, I have no idea. The responsible gambler in me is telling me it’s time to cash in my chips. But the gambler I actually listen to at the casino is telling me to hold out. Be greedy. What will happen on the actual Black Friday, 11/25/2022? Or Cyber Monday, 11/28/2022?!

Power to my Solar Shed!

Well, follow me and I’ll let you know how it goes. My plan is to stick it out until I can’t any longer. My goal is to find a 400 watt system, with an inverter and battery storage. At the moment Renogy is in the lead, but HQST has my attention.

11/20 – Renogy 12 Volt Starter Kit: $499.99

Update (11/24)! This product is now $419.99 on Amazon

11/20 – Renogy 12v 200ah battery: $999.99 (update 11/24… no change)

Also looking at 12v 100ah self heating battery on sale for $664.99.

11/20 – Renogy 2000 Watt Inverter: $369.99

Update (11/24)! This product is now $323.99 on Amazon

2000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter (New Edition)

What do you think?

Tell us in the comments when you think the best time to buy will be? Will prices keep dropping? Or do I risk missing out if I wait for the bottom of the dip?

I’ll keep this post updated and let you know what I end up with, how much it cost and I’ll track the price to find out if I made the right decision.

UPDATE 11/24

So I pulled the trigger… it was a double tap.

The price of Renogy kits continued to drop and I purchased a 400 watt starter kit for $580.75. The kit is basically identical to the one I was looking at above, but double the power.

And because I just couldn’t help myself when a flash sale offered a free 110 watt portable solar panel with the purchase of a discounted Ecoflow River Pro. Total before tax cost of $479.00!
