What’s New With Evergreen Off-Grid

Evergreen Off-Grid Heads to the Miami Energy Expo!

In this last full week of August, Evergreen Off-Grid headed to Miami to visit this year’s Energy Expo. I know what you’re thinking, and August wouldn’t have been my first choice for a Miami visit either… but the trip was well worth it!

Introducing Our New Facebook Group – DIY Solar – Evergreen Off-Grid

Evergreen Off-Grid is excited to announce our new Facebook group! Come and join the conversation!

We’ll keep the group up to date with our latest posts, and better yet, you can interact with other curious off-grid’ers just like you!

How Much is 300 Watt Hours Anyway? Help Me Understand Portable Power Packs!

Also upcoming, is a video and blog post helping you understand exactly what you’re getting with a 300 or 600 watt hour power pack. Many manufacturers offer awesome power packs, but it’s important to manage your expectations and understand exactly what it is you’re buying. That’s where we come in.

Rather than kilowatt hours, we’ll help you speak coffee pot hours. We’ll review our 277 watt EcoFlow River and show you what it can do. We’ll also show you what it can’t do.

Evergreen Off-Grid Solar Shed

And finally, Evergreen Off-Grid is in the process of filming the building of our very own solar shed. It’s still a working title, but right now I’m thinking Solar Shed: In Over His Head! I am open to suggestions.

So, what is a solar shed? Good question! I have a 10kw array on my roof, but I don’t have battery backup for reasons I discussed in our Power Outage Protection article. Our solar shed will be our backup power protection laboratory. We’ll show you how you can turn your shed into a solar shed.

We’ll show you to put together your own small power generation and storage system so you can keep the lights on when your neighborhood goes dark.

Thank You!
