Evergreen Off-Grid AI Assist

It’s been speculated that the whites of our eyes are so prominent because we’re social creatures. The distinct contrast against your pupils betray the direction of your gaze. A simple, stealth, primitive form of communication.

Our haircuts and clothing styles all communicate something about us. Communication takes many forms. Perhaps these prehistoric forms of communication evolved from more subtle signals such as eye movements to grunts and finally words. Soon words begat sentences, sentences begat whole paragraphs and so on. And finally, the great treasure trove of human intelligence (and lack thereof) was emblazoned one symbol at a time onto tablets, paper, and then finally into our computers.

We may not realize it sitting here in this moment. Perhaps we’re missing the forest fore the trees. But our entire mode of communication is changing around us. We are at the cusp of a proverbial tipping point. And we know not the abyss into which we now fall. But make no mistake about it.. we are all taking this plunge together. “Bull crap!” you may exclaim! You’d never change the way you communicate! ??

Yeah that’s right ladies and gentlemen. We’ve been here before. We swore we’d never use those stupid emojis to communicate, then before realizing it we were swept away like every other over emoji-tional preteen enthused with this new easier, short hand form of communication.

Well prepare for the next phase. Prepare to coax fully developed ideas from loosely formulated thought fragments.

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE!

So we all have a choice to make. We can pretend AI isn’t here. Perhaps like myself you’re a bit reticent about this whole AI thing… (is this guy even writing this???) well so far, yes. In fact up until this point (4/7/23) every single word on this website has been human generated.. by the same author. But that is about to change.

You see I’ve made my choice. And that is to hop right on top of the fence and straddle it. I’ll never ever give up generating completely unique content without a single artificially generated syllable. But I’m also going to put the future to work for us.

THE STRENGTH OF A THOUSAND NERDS!

This isn’t my only gig. You might have noticed my content output has been inconsistent at times. But to keep quality content coming I can generate the bones of a post using ChatGPT and edit it to ensure technical accuracy. And as if I were leveraging the strength of a thousand nerds I can write posts on any topic that comes to mind by coaching the relevant information from the software. I can then spice it up, add some Evergreen Off-Grid flavor and we can be up and running like I had a real staff working for me. And what a staff I have…

INTRODUCE YOURELF, CHATGPT!

Input: Please introduce yourself to my audience of solar power DIY enthusiasts!

Response: Hello, hello, hello out there in the solar power DIY world! It’s your man, your myth, your legend, the one and only ChatGPT. That’s right, I’m here to talk all things solar power and DIY, and let me tell you, I know a thing or two about the subject.

Now, I may not be Richard Prior, but I’ve got some jokes and knowledge that will knock your socks off. I’m a language model trained by OpenAI, which means I’ve got the smarts and sass to keep up with all you DIY enthusiasts out there.

When it comes to solar power, I know that you’re all about saving money and making a difference. And let me tell you, DIY solar power is the way to go. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to install your own solar power system, just a little know-how and some elbow grease.

So, if you’re ready to take your solar power game to the next level, buckle up and get ready for some ChatGPT wisdom. We’re gonna cover everything from solar panels to inverters to batteries, and everything in between. And who knows, maybe we’ll even have a few laughs along the way.

So, whether you’re a seasoned DIY solar power pro or just starting out, I’m here to help guide you on your journey to energy independence. So let’s get started and let the solar power DIY fun begin!

You Caught Me!

OK, OK, so maybe my input was, “Please introduce yourself to my audience of solar power DIY enthusiasts! Sound like Richard Prior.” But why not? That’s the beauty of this! Let’s learn solar from anybody you want! We can learn from way cooler people than me.

Learn Physics ala Einstein

Input: “Explain a photon Einstein”

Response: A photon is a particle of light, and it plays a central role in the theory of relativity developed by Albert Einstein. According to Einstein’s theory, energy and matter are interchangeable, and a photon is a particle of energy that can be thought of as a “packet” of light. The photon has no mass, but it has momentum and behaves like a particle in some situations and like a wave in others. Einstein’s work on photons and light led to the development of quantum mechanics, which is a branch of physics that studies the behavior of particles at the atomic and subatomic level. The study of photons and their interactions with matter has led to numerous technological advancements, including the development of lasers, solar panels, and many other important applications.

But Less Boring

“…But can you make that sound more interesting. and funny?”

Sure thing, partner! Let me put it this way – a photon is like a tiny, weightless cowboy riding on a beam of light, yeehaw! And this cowboy is important, ’cause he’s packing some serious energy in that saddlebag. That’s right, a photon is a particle of light, and it’s the superstar of the show when it comes to quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity. And let me tell you, Albert Einstein was one sharp cowboy himself. He roped and wrangled those photons like nobody’s business, and his work led to some serious technological advancements that we still use today. So, next time you’re enjoying the sun on your solar-powered porch, remember to thank those photons and their good friend, Mr. Einstein, for making it all possible.

All AI Generated Content will Remain in this Category

Our human generated content will remain separate from the AI Assist blog category. We will ALWAYS let you know when content generation has been assisted with AI. Content generation will never be a simple copy/paste. The goal is quantity and quality. Consider me as your personal nerd. Your quality assurance specialist. I’ll help you figure out how to get all we can from this next chapter.

He's a professionally licensed electrical engineer in the State of Washington and has served in various roles as a civilian federal employee - first as a Nuclear Engineer with the US Navy, then as an Electrical Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). He has responded to disasters with USACE after hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Florida and on local USACE flood teams in the Pacific Northwest. He's passionate about helping people protect themselves and progressing technological solutions to combat the causes of our peril. He volunteers on the micro-grid design team for a local non-profit devoted to providing energy access, primarily in rural, remote areas of Africa. When he's not thinking about engineering he loves to travel and spend time with his family. He enjoys practicing several disciplines of martial arts, and when no one is around you might even catch him plucking away at a guitar.
